Helicobacter pylori infection, chronic atrophic gastritis and riskof stomach and esophagus cancer: Results from the prospec tivepopulation-based ESTHER cohort study

A cohort study involving nearly 10,000 patients found that infection with H. Pylori in the presence of chronic atrophic gastritis was associated with an 18-fold increased risk of gastric cancer.
