Association of Proton Pump Inhibitors and Capecitabine Efficacy in Advanced Gastroesophageal Cancer
A new Jama Oncology study shows gastric acid suppressants (proton pump inhibitors) negatively affect capecitabine efficacy, an oral cytotoxic chemotherapeutic commonly used across cancer subtypes.
