Risk factors and incidence of gastric cancer after detection of Helicobacter pylori infection: A large cohort study

A study of more than 370,000 veterans with H pylori infections published in Gastroenterology found an increased risk of gastric cancer in smokers, as well as in ethnic minorities. The risk declined once H pylori was eliminated.
