Houston Consensus Shrinks Gaps in H. Pylori Management

“There are clear gaps in testing, treatment, and follow-up for H pylori in North America, and we wanted to release a consensus statement on risk groups, appropriate testing and healthcare system factors in the U.S.,” said lead author Hashem El-Serag, MD, of Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. “Another important motivation was the rising resistance to multiple antibiotics used for H. pylori and the scarce use of culture- and sensitivity-guided management.”
